Pioneers Take Home Gravette 7-on-7 Championship

Gentry lost the first game of the day, but didn't lose again on their way to winning the 2nd Annual Field of Pride 7 on 7 Shootout held today in Gravette. Gentry lost their first game to Prairie Grove by one point, but went on to defeat Huntsville and Farmington handily in pool play. Gentry received the top seed from their pool with their 2-1 record and a tie-breaker advantage over 2-1 Farmington. They defeated Lincoln, 32-0, and Elkins, 19-6, to make it to the finals. They would then defeat Siloam Springs, 16-14, for the championship.

Gentry finished the day 5-1, and outscored opponents 125-39. The host team, Gravette Lions, went undefeated in pool play, but lost a one point decision to Siloam Springs in the semifinals, whom they had defeated earlier in the day. Gravette would finish the day 5-1 with the victory in the 3rd place game over Elkins. Gravette outscored opponents 156-66.
