2012 WMCS 7-on-7 Showcase

West Memphis Christian School will host the WMCS 7-on-7 Showcase on Tuesday, July 10 in West Memphis. The format will be pool play into bracket play.  Each team will be guaranteed six games on the day, with the event starting at 2:00 PM. The Tuesday (or other weekday) format of this tournament allows for an additional dates in the 7-on-7 calendar because the weekends are now filled due to the Arkansas Activities Association dead period.

West Memphis Christian School is also hosting a junior high passing league on July 9 and July 16 (Mondays) on the WMCS campus.  They are willing to take any junior high team body looking to throw those nights. There will be three games for every team participating.

If you are interested in either event, contact Coach Chris Norton. The organizers are still working to complete the field for the showcase and have openings in the passing. They intend to have both public and private schools from Arkansas, Mississippi, Missouri, and Tennessee. The entry fee for the 7-on-7 tournament is $100 per team. The showcase will be a great tune-up event for any weekend tournament that you will be attending.

The Bruins ended up winning the loser's bracket, but were shut down in the championship game. The first match-up (winner's bracket final) with Searcy was the Bruins first ever loss in the Air Raid (a 33 game streak dating back to 2007).
