2011 Arkansas High School Final Overall Ranking

  1. Pulaski Academy (14-0, 4A Champion)
A team that scores on over 80% of their possessions would be difficult to stop, even for 7A Fayetteville and Bentonville.
  2. Fayetteville (12-2, 7A Champion)
The Bulldogs quarterback Austin Allen showed why he will be the top signal caller in the state next year as he led Fayetteville past Bentonville, 29-28, in overtime.
  3. Bentonville (12-1, 7A Runner-Up)
The Tigers appeared unbeatable for the first nine weeks, but Har-Ber playing them to within 14 and North Little Rock within 24, may have put enough doubt in the minds of both Fayetteville and the Tigers that they could be taken down.
  4. Greenwood (14-0, 5A Champion)
Rick Jones finished his 8th season at Greenwood with his 5th state championship and possibly his most complete team.
  5. El Dorado (13-1, 6A Champion)
The Wildcats had a signature win over Har-Ber and their only blemish was a loss to Lake Hamilton, whom they defeated in the state championship.
  6. Lake Hamilton (12-2, 6A Runner-Up)
Lake Hamilton's only losses were to Pulaski Academy and a 4-point loss to El Dorado in the state championship.
  7. North Little Rock (9-3)
The Charging Wildcats had just two losses to Bentonville and 3-point loss to Conway after losing the top running back in the state in a preseason intrasquad game.
  8. Ft. Smith Southside (8-4)
Southside had two 3-point losses to Fayetteville, a week 3 loss to West Memphis, and a loss to Bentonville.
  9. Camden Fairview (11-2)
The Cardinals had an opening week loss to El Dorado and led Greenwood by three touchdowns before the Bulldogs came back to win in the 5A Semifinals.
  10. Springdale Har-Ber (8-4)
Har-Ber defeated Fayetteville handily, 45-24, and their 4 losses were all to teams in the top 10, Bentonville, El Dorado, North Little Rock, and Southside.

2011 Playoff Week #5 Scores

The 2011 Arkansas High School Football season is complete with the games from this last Friday and Saturday.  Football fans will now have to be content with the bowl season and the NFL. Then, it is spring practice and 7-on-7 this summer.

4A

  • Pulaski Academy 63, Malvern 28
The Pulaski Academy Bruins dominated this game just like the conference match-up.  The Bruins completed their first perfect season (14-0) with the win on Saturday.  The Malvern Leopards showed some fight and demonstrated why they are the #2 in 4A.

    3A
    • Charleston 31, Barton 10
Charleston took control of this game and cooled off the streaking Barton Bears.  The Tigers are celebrating their 3rd state title. All of them have been won since 2005 (2005, 2008, and 2011).

    2A
    • Strong 45, Carlisle 20
Strong's Kenneth Dixon took the opening snap for a touchdown and the Bulldogs never looked back. The Carlisle Bison just never had an answer for Dixon. The Bulldogs showed just how deep the 2A-8 is because they finished 3rd in the conference before making their championship run.

      2011 Playoff Week #5 Match-ups

We have arrived at the FINAL week of the 2011 Arkansas High School Football season. Wow! How time has flown by us during this season.  After crowning three champions last weekend, the three classes (4A, 3A, and 2A) will determine their champions this weekend in War Memorial Stadium.

      4A

      •  Malvern vs. Pulaski Academy
        • War Memorial Stadium
        • Saturday, December 10, 2011 -- 12:00 pm
This game is a re-match of the Week #8 conference (4A-7) game that Pulaski Academy dominated 47-16 (leading 47-0 at the half). The Bruins are looking to make a claim as the state's overall #1 team while the Malvern Leopards want to pull the same trick as Fayetteville and El Dorado by winning the rematch. The Leopards are talented, but PA will finish 14-0.

        3A
        • Charleston vs. Barton
          • War Memorial Stadium
          • Friday, December 9, 2011 -- 7:00 pm
This game is definitely not what the "experts" of 3A Arkansas High School football would have predicted, but both teams are playing extremely well down the stretch.  We are going with Barton because they appear to be the "hottest" team in the state right now.  This game will be a great one to kick off the final week of the 2011 Arkansas High School Football season.

        2A
        • Strong vs. Carlisle
          • War Memorial Stadium
          • Saturday, December 10, 2011 -- 6:30 pm
While Strong has had a magical playoff run, Carlisle is the last undefeated 2A team for a reason -- they are pretty darn good.  Look for an excellent state final game in the lowest classification for Arkansas High School Football.

          2011 Playoff Week #4 Scores

The season is over for 5A, 6A, and 7A.  Congratulations to Greenwood, El Dorado, and Fayetteville for winning those state titles. The championship games in the lower three classes (4A, 3A, and 2A) are now set for this final week of the 2011 Arkansas High School Football season.

          7A
          • Fayetteville 29, Bentonville 28 (OT)
Fayetteville shocked a lot of people in the state by taking down Bentonville. The Purple Dogs win their 2nd state title under Coach Patton by snapping the 25 game winning streak of the Tigers.  Fayetteville's win opens up the discussion about the overall #1 team in the state and Greenwood and Pulaski Academy are both hoping to step into that talk.

          6A
          • El Dorado 24, Lake Hamilton 20
This rematch from Week #8 flipped the scores.  Although we picked the Wolves, we were not surprised by the outcome for the (now) 3-time defending 6A state champs.  We say again that a "best of three" between these two great 6A teams would be fun to watch.

          5A
          • Greenwood 53,Batesville 11
Greenwood dominated War Memorial Stadium to bring more hardware to the Bulldogs trophy case. They also served noticed to 6A competition. Coach Jones and his Bulldogs will not fade away as they move up in class next season.

          4A

          • Malvern 49, Farmington 25
          • Pulaski Academy 51, Dollarway 32

          3A
          • Barton 42, Prescott 27
          • Charleston 26, Fountain Lake 23

          2A
          • Carlisle 34, East Poinsett County 7
          • Strong 29, Junction City 19
